Looking Forward to
a Bright New Year at SWHCS

Dennis Knox
For the new year, we're continuing to commit ourselves to our number one priority: patient safety. That's why we volunteered to be the first hospital in the Universal Health Services system to create a Patient Safety and Quality Council, consisting of hospital administration and medical staff leadership.
This council, which reports directly to our governing board, will help SWHCS continue to comply with state and federal regulations, oversee all other hospital councils and help strengthen a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement throughout the hospital.
Many of our departments will benefit from new technology in 2010. In this edition of Health News, you'll read about the new hyperbaric oxygen chambers in the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine that can help enhance the treatment process for patients with chronic wounds. You'll also read about advanced imaging software that makes hip and knee replacement more effective by helping surgeons position implants more precisely.
From our family to yours, we want to thank you for all of your support this year. It truly has been a pleasure and honor to serve the southwest Riverside County community for many years, and we look forward to doing so for many more. Have a joyous holiday season and a very happy, healthy new year!
