Southwest Employee Shows "60
Is the New 40!"

Photo of Ginny Ince
Ten years ago, when Ginny Ince turned 50, she celebrated by buying herself a new mountain bike. Since then, she's put 15,000 miles on it, and she's looking forward to 15,000 more -- that is, when she can squeeze in time between snow skiing and waterskiing with her husband, David; entertaining friends; and serving as Director of Volunteer Services at Southwest Healthcare System (SWHCS).

"Sixty is the new 40!" she exclaims. Turning 60 spurred Ms. Ince and her husband to add more activity to their lives. They joined Southwest Healthcare Senior, a free program open to anyone 55 or better who would like to learn more about health and fitness and take steps to stay strong, healthy and energetic.

Those older than 65 who enroll in the program might be eligible for a waiver of their Medicare Part A deductible. All members enjoy the following benefits:

  • Special events including seminars
  • Free physician referrals
  • Private hospital bill reviews with a billing representative
  • Interest-free payment plans for any services not covered by insurance
  • A local newspaper delivered daily to your hospital room if you are an inpatient at SWHCS
  • Discounts on hospital cafeteria meals and selected gift-shop items
  • Quarterly Health News magazine mailed to your home

"We've met some great people and participated in fun events, like healthy-cooking classes," Ms. Ince says. "I'd encourage anyone to join -- you have nothing to lose and everything to gain."

To join the Southwest Senior Program, complete and return the enclosed form. You also can apply online at www.swhcs.com; please click on "Southwest Healthcare Senior" in the left column.
