In March, Southwest Healthcare System welcomed a new CEO/ Managing Director. With more than 28 years of healthcare management experience, Dennis Knox is responsible for strategic and operational activities at Inland Valley Medical Center and Rancho Springs Medical Center.

Most recently, Mr. Knox was CEO of Lovelace Medical Center Downtown and Lovelace Medical Center Gibson in Albuquerque. He oversaw daily operations and strategic planning at these two facilities, which had a combined total of 459 beds. He also was responsible for a $60 million consolidation/renovation project at the facilities.

Prior to joining Lovelace Medical Center, Mr. Knox served as CEO at Phoenix Baptist Hospital and Medical Center. He managed the 236-bed comprehensive acute medical/surgical/teaching hospital, the flagship of the six-hospital Abrazo Health System and part of Vanguard Health System. Mr. Knox also has served as CEO and System Vice President of Memorial Hermann Continuing Care Corporation and Memorial Hermann Pasadena Hospital in Houston.

"One of the reasons the position at Southwest Healthcare System appealed to me was that the Valleys are growing so quickly," Mr. Knox says. "Southwest has several construction projects in progress now, with the ability to provide services not before offered to the area. I look forward to this opportunity and becoming an active member of the Southwest Riverside County community."

Mr. Knox holds a Master's in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Management Science from Duke University. He has three sons and a daughter. His wife, Jody, is a chief operating officer in the healthcare industry.

An avid golfer, Mr. Knox enjoyed recently chairing the 11th annual Southwest Healthcare System Charity Golf Tournament at CrossCreek Golf Club in Temecula. He also is looking forward to playing the many other courses in the Temecula Valley.
